I practice and teach Astanga yoga in London. Practicing yoga makes me intensely happy. Indian philosophy fascinates me. Mindfulness practice gives glimpses of a miraculous world. In teaching yoga it is my intention to try to share these things that I love.

My mum took me to my first yoga class in 1996 and I was amazed. By 2003 I was developing a dedicated Astanga practice. My main teacher is Hamish Hendry at Astanga Yoga London. I have studied under Shri K Pattabhis Jois and R. Sharat Jois in Mysore, India in 2006 and with Sharat in 2012 and 2015. Since 2007 I have studied annually with Richard Freeman. I study daily with Hamish (Primary, Intermediate, Advanced A and some B Series) and have sat Goenka-style Vipassana mindfulness retreats. My main practice is motherhood with occasional asana, pranayama and Sanskrit.

I began teaching full-time in 2006. I assist and occasionally cover for Hamish at Astanga Yoga London. I run philosophy workshops and book clubs at Astanga Yoga London. I teach at the Life Centre Islington. I am a Contact Teacher for Yogacampus Teacher Training. I teach philosophy modules on Zolder Teacher Training run by Norman Blair and Melanie Cooper. I also teach philosophy modules for the training run by Naomi Reynold's Yoga on the Lane. I have contributed the story of the birth of my first child to Sharmila Desai and Anna Wise's Yoga Sadhana for Mothers (YogaWords 2014). I have contributed to the magazine Pushpam.
